OK I submit...

I quite like the thought of a blog: Somewhere to mumble.

Todays mumbles...
Had a haircut, 8 inches off the bottom. The hairdresser asked me who normally cuts my hair "me" I said, the look was a killer. As I was leaving she said "see you soon". Ha! Is five years' time soon enough? Why do they not have signs in hairdressers saying "We specialise in nervous patients"? I have to give her credit though she didn't ask me about my holidays or if I was going out - the holiday was rained off and I rarely go anywhere except the office. The hair looks good enough to denote responsible parent at tonight's yr 10 prize-giving (aaargh) - and I didn't cry in the car.

Anyway back in the office, fielding a few enquiries. A record shop owner who is paying £300 a month (yes a month) to just 'have' a website. This is not hosting, this is not for maintenance this is just what he agreed after paying £lots to have his very basic Actinic site 'designed' in 2005. It saddens me to think that there are still companies out there who are happy to rip-off their technically challenged clients just because they can. . .Pink's hosting starts at £150 a year, domains are £30 and once the site is paid for unless the client wants/needs a maintenance contract then that's it - just the domain and hosting - nothing more (except clients get to talk to me every so often). I still keep muttering "£300 a month for nothing!"

Spoke to the printer who has just printed the dried flowers brochure I've been working on, it looks stunning and he's about to run me off some copies to use for publicity. It's so nice to work with a company who want something beautiful - the flowers are amazing, had a lovely afternoon taking the pics with Shirley Carnegie and the owners of Martins Dried Flowers are lovely too. An all round lovely job.
